The Israeli opposition, led by Likud Party Chairman Benjamin Netanyahu, succeeded in preventing the dissolving the Israeli Knesset yesterday.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seeks to gain more to form an alternative government through the Knesset itself and avoid going to new elections.

The opposition toppled the opportunity to dissolve the Knesset after a long and difficult day and witnessed many disagreements that helped the Chairman of the Knesset Committee (which is responsible for making the decision), Nir Auerbach, who broke away from the government coalition, to postpone the debate several times.

Disagreements prevailed between the Israeli parties forming the government and the coalition parties over the date for voting to dissolve the Knesset, the date of early elections, the application of Israeli law to the West Bank, and the “accused law” which stipulates preventing a Knesset member accused of criminal offenses, against whom an indictment has been filed, from running for prime minister.
