A number of senior officers of the General Authority of the Israeli Occupation Army attacked Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy due to the faltering military operations in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Channel 12 reported that verbal altercations broke out during a meeting yesterday, Monday, between senior Israeli army generals and Halevy, as the generals blamed Halevy for the losses the Israeli army is suffering in Gaza, and for its failure to achieve decisive achievements.
The channel quoted senior officers as saying, "We are stumbling and do not achieve victory. We are not consulted when making decisions. We are walking on water in this war."
The Chief of Staff replied, "There are no consultations in wartime."
Halevy added, “I assumed responsibility in the first days of the war, and I said at the Wailing Wall (Al-Buraq) in front of the entire audience that I am responsible and that the sense of responsibility accompanies me every day and in every decision I make in the war. I am now focused on achieving the goals of the war, and I expect everyone to feel about it.” This table feels the same way."
Halevy recently complained that the lack of a political strategy for the post-war period meant that the army was repeatedly forced to fight in places in the Gaza Strip from which it had already withdrawn. He cited Jabalia as an example.
Yesterday evening, Monday, the occupation army announced that 14 soldiers were injured in the battles in the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours. He also admitted that 41 soldiers were injured in battles since last Friday.
