Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on the Iranian people to overthrow their government, saying they should “impose their will on the future of their country” as regional tensions continue to rise.

In a series of media statements, Netanyahu said the joint military operation between Israel and the United States against Iran would continue “whatever the cost.” He claimed Israeli forces had destroyed the headquarters of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran and eliminated a number of senior Iranian and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commanders.

Netanyahu argued that Iran’s leadership poses an existential threat to Israel and must be prevented from acquiring nuclear weapons, accusing the Iranian government of responsibility for the deaths of many Israelis.

He added that Israel would enable the Iranian people to determine their own destiny, describing the current moment as a rare opportunity. The Israeli premier also praised what he called the “historic leadership” of U.S. President Donald Trump during the crisis and stressed that close coordination between Washington and Tel Aviv remains ongoing.

The remarks come amid intensifying exchanges between Iran and Israel. According to the Israeli military, around 200 aircraft took part in large-scale airstrikes targeting Iranian missile and air defense systems. The military described the operation as the largest in Israeli Air Force history.

Israeli officials said roughly 500 targets inside Iran were struck, including air defense assets and missile launch platforms. Meanwhile, sirens reportedly sounded hundreds of times across Israel as Iran launched new waves of missile attacks toward Israeli territory and U.S. bases in the Middle East.

The Israeli army said it continues efforts to destroy launch sites and intercept planned attacks, including strikes on operatives allegedly preparing missiles moments before launch.

Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir described the campaign as “decisive, fateful, and unprecedented,” adding that earlier strikes had expanded the Israeli Air Force’s operational freedom to conduct additional waves of attacks.
