This week, Israel expects the arrival of a delegation from the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss cooperation between the two countries.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video on Saturday evening that the Moroccan delegation will arrive in Israel at the beginning of the week.

Netanyahu indicated that he had, on Friday, "A historic phone call with the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, and they agreed that the Moroccan delegation would arrive in Israel at the beginning of the week, aiming at pushing all matters forward, from opening diplomatic offices, discussing the establishment of embassies, and direct air movement from Tel Aviv to Morocco and back."

On its part, the Israeli news site "Walla" indicated that the delegation, consisting of officials from the Moroccan Foreign Ministry, will arrive in Tel Aviv on Sunday.

The site added, "The delegation will start preparing for the reopening of the Moroccan diplomatic representation office in Tel Aviv."

It also continued: "Morocco closed the office 20 years ago after the outbreak of the second Intifada, and since then, Morocco has continued to pay the rent for the office in Tel Aviv and they may resume work there in the next two weeks."

On Friday, the Israeli Prime Minister invited Morocco's King Mohammed VI to visit Tel Aviv.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that: "It had a phone call with King Mohammed VI of Morocco, and the two leaders congratulated each other on the resumption of relations between the two countries, the signing of the joint declaration with the United States and the cooperation agreements they reached."

The office added, "The procedures and mechanisms for implementing these agreements have also been defined."

The office pointed out that the Moroccan king "Referred to the close and warm ties that exist with the Jews of Morocco and the Israeli citizens of Moroccan origin."

As per the agreement, Morocco will establish full diplomatic relations, resume official contacts with Tel Aviv, and allow flights between the two countries.
