Israel Registers 90 New Coronavirus Cases

90 new Coronavirus cases have been reported in Israel on Wednesday, bringing the total confirmed cases to 427, according to the Health Ministry.

"Five Israelis with the virus are in serious condition and 10 are listed in moderate condition. The rest are showing only mild symptoms," the ministry added.

This number is considered the country's biggest one-day hike since the outbreak of the virus has begun in the country.

It is worth mentioning that, More than 4,000 students and educational staff were also placed under a temporary 14-day quarantine in Israel.

The Israeli government has taken drastic measures to contain the deadly contagion, known as COVID-19, in recent days, which includes requiring all travelers visiting the Jewish state to self-quarantine for 14 days.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 121,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

More cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease Covid-19, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.

Transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough. They can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes.
