Israeli authorities have begun preparations to reopen the Rafah crossing from the Palestinian side, Israel’s Channel 12 reported, citing informed sources.
This move comes in implementation of an agreement reached between Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to the sources, the agreement stipulates the reopening of the Palestinian side of the crossing following Netanyahu's return to Israel.
The step aims to facilitate the movement of individuals and goods across the border with the Gaza Strip, in accordance with bilateral understandings.
Channel 12 further noted that authorities have commenced organizing the necessary logistical and security procedures to ensure a coordinated and secure reopening of the crossing, reflecting a commitment to the terms agreed upon with the American side.
