The Israeli government will hold a meeting today afternoon to establish the cornerstone for the new town of Golan.

The meeting is expected to be a mixed secular-religious community, in accordance with a resolution that will be introduced after its approval by the Knesset, according to The Times of Israel.

The new town will be named “Trump Heights”, or “Ramat Trump” in Hebrew. The move comes after the U.S President official recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan three months ago.

Trump recognized Israel’s sovereignty over Syrian Golan Heights, although the U.N didn’t concede this step.

The Israeli Government expects that many U.S investors will be interested in the region for agriculture and tourism.

The Israeli media reported that the new site would be northern Golan and near a ruined Syrian village.

They are willing to build tens of thousands of house units to accommodate 250,000 Israeli by the year 2048. About 33 Israeli settlements were constructed since the occupation of the Golan in 1967.

However, 18,000 Syrians living in the Golan Heights refused to get the Israeli nationality.
