The Israel Hayom, an Israeli daily newspaper, reported that an Israeli warplane mistakenly targeted a house where Israeli soldiers were holed up in the Gaza Strip in recent days, killing one of them and wounding others.
According to the newspaper, the incident occurred when the ground forces requested air support against Hamas fighters they spotted nearby, and the Air Force responded to the request, noting that, due to incorrect fire from the ground, they attacked the building in which the soldiers were located.
For his part, the Israeli army spokesman said: The incident is being investigated and the information will be presented to the families of the dead soldiers and then to the public.
The Israeli army announced on Friday that its death toll since October 7 had risen to 420 after two soldiers were killed in the Gaza battles.
