Israeli health authorities have confirmed the country’s first recorded case of Hantavirus, according to reports published by Israeli media.

The patient is believed to have contracted the virus during a trip to Eastern Europe several months ago before later seeking medical treatment after developing symptoms associated with the disease.

According to reports by the Israeli newspaper Maariv, doctors initially conducted antibody testing, which indicated exposure to the virus. The diagnosis was later confirmed through a PCR laboratory test.

Medical officials monitoring the case said the patient’s condition remains stable and does not currently require intensive care or strict isolation measures. However, the individual continues to undergo close medical observation.

Israel’s Health Ministry has reportedly been informed of the case and is monitoring the situation while following the necessary public health procedures.

Hantavirus infections are considered rare and are typically transmitted through contact with rodents or exposure to their urine, saliva, or droppings. In severe cases, the virus can cause serious respiratory or kidney-related complications.
