According to reliable sources, at least seven non-governmental medical organizations have been banned from entering Gaza by Israeli authorities.
This new restriction is expected to exacerbate the already dire healthcare situation in the region.
The organizations affected by this ban include "Fajr," "Gilea," the Palestinian American Medical Association, and four others, all of which have a long history of providing medical services in the Palestinian territories.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reportedly informed these groups that they are now barred from operating in Gaza under Israel's directive.
Members of these organizations currently inside Gaza will not be allowed to re-enter if they leave, further restricting access to medical care in the embattled region.
Dorothea Guicciardo, Development Director at Gilea, confirmed her organization is among those affected.
She told CNN that blocking healthcare workers from entering Gaza will severely limit the ability to provide life-saving care to Palestinians, who have been enduring nearly 20 years of an ongoing military blockade.
