Sweden have officially announced their squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with star forwards Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyökeres leading the attacking line for the Scandinavian side.
The squad features several of Sweden’s top talents, while Roony Bardghji was notably left out of the final roster despite recent attention surrounding the young FC Barcelona player.
Sweden’s attacking options also include Anthony Elanga, Gustaf Nilsson, and Benjamin Nygren after strong club performances this season.
In midfield, the squad includes rising star Lucas Bergvall alongside Yasin Ayari and Mattias Svanberg.
Defensively, captain Victor Lindelöf headlines the back line together with Carl Starfelt and Gabriel Gudmundsson.
Sweden have been drawn into Group F alongside the Netherlands, Japan, and Tunisia in what is considered one of the toughest groups of the tournament.
The Swedish national team return to the World Cup after missing the previous edition, marking their 12th appearance in the competition. Sweden’s best World Cup result came in 1958, when they finished runners-up on home soil, while they also secured third place in 1950 and 1994.
