A senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Tehran will not negotiate over its deterrence capabilities, stressing that any talks are strictly limited to the country’s nuclear program.
Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi, deputy commander of the IRGC, stated that Iran’s defensive and deterrent capacities are non-negotiable, reflecting Tehran’s longstanding position amid ongoing diplomatic discussions over its nuclear activities.
Vahidi’s remarks come as international efforts continue to revive negotiations related to Iran’s nuclear file, with Western powers seeking assurances over the peaceful nature of Tehran’s program. Iranian officials have repeatedly maintained that their military capabilities fall outside the scope of any negotiations.
