The Iraqi Foreign Minister (PM), Fuad Hussein revealed on Thursday that Defense minister Gomaa Enad will visit Moscow soon, to discuss a number of important security and military issues.
In press statements to "Sputnik News Agency", Hussein added his latest visit to Moscow came at the invitation of his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
Concerning the Russian arming of the Iraqi army, the Iraqi top diplomate said, "We did not address these issues. We touched on a group of files and a large number of memorandums of understanding (MoUs)."
'We hope that those MoUs will be signed at the next meeting of the joint business council between Russia and Iraq," he added.
It is worth mentioning that, earlier, Lavrov announced that Russia is ready to meet any needs of Iraq in military products of Russian manufacture.
"The visit of the Iraqi Defense Minister to Russia is planned in the foreseeable future, I'm sure that these issues will be discussed in a very concrete and substantive manner," he added.
