Iraq has confirmed its rejection of the security escalation on the Jordanian-Syrian border, calling for the need to enhance joint international efforts to achieve stability in the region.

In a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Iraqi Foreign Ministry expressed its deep concern over the recent security developments in the region, emphasizing the importance of reducing regional escalation in light of the current critical circumstances.

It stressed the rejection of the security escalation in northeastern Jordan on the border with Syria, stressing the need to allow space for the ongoing negotiations with the American side, in which the Iraqi government is exerting strenuous efforts to reach positive understandings that serve the interests of Iraq and the region.
