Iraq and Oman national football teams advanced to the semi-final of the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup (Khaleeji 25), on Thursday.
The two teams qualified from the first group of the two-group tournament.
Iraq had a massive win 5-0 against Yemen in the final round of the stage group of Group 1 to capture first place in the group with seven points.
The scored goals were by Mustafa Nadhim (40’), Amjad Attwan (64’), Ayman Hussein (P-74’, 75’), and Hussein Ali Al-Saedi (88’).
In the same context, Oman defeated KSA 2-1 in the same round for the first group, and it came second with seven points. Although Oman have the same points as Iraq, they came second due to the goals difference.
Oman beat Saudi Arabia 2-1 this evening in the last round of group-stage games at Al-Minaa Olympic Stadium in Basra, Iraq to qualify for the competition’s semi-finals.
The scored goals were by Al Mandhar Al Alawi in 34 before Turki Al-Ammar scored for KSA in 41.
However, Harib Al-Saadi scored the winning goal in 81 for Oman.
Tomorrow, Bahrain will face Kuwait and Qatar will take on the UAE in the final round of Group B.
