The conflict involving Iran intensified Thursday with new military developments and escalating political tensions across the Middle East, according to Xinhua News Agency.
US President Donald Trump said he believes Washington must play a role in determining Iran’s future leadership, signaling a more assertive stance from the United States as the conflict deepens.
Meanwhile, Israel announced a new wave of large-scale airstrikes across Iran, saying its forces have destroyed roughly 80 percent of the country’s air defense systems. Israeli officials described the operation as part of an expanded campaign aimed at weakening Iran’s military capabilities.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran is not seeking a ceasefire and sees no reason to negotiate with the United States under current conditions.

Regional fallout from the conflict has also grown. Authorities in Kuwait reported that 67 military personnel were injured as hundreds of incoming missiles and drones were intercepted.
In neighboring Bahrain, officials said the Bapco Energies refinery was targeted in a missile strike, raising concerns about the security of key energy infrastructure in the Gulf.
