Iranian Foreign Minister (FM) Abbas Araghchi and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov held a telephone conversation to discuss developments related to Iran’s nuclear file, particularly the moves by the European Troika (Britain, Germany, and France), on the eve of the expiration of the legal deadline for United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231.
The talks also covered cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
According to Iran’s official news agency (IRNA), the two foreign ministers “assessed” the progress of the nuclear negotiations and emphasized the necessity of concluding Resolution 2231 within the set timeframe.
During the call, both ministers also reaffirmed the continuation of interaction and consultations between Iran and Russia at various levels to strengthen their common positions.
