Iran Repatriates 20,000 Illegal Afghan Migrants

The Iranian Border Guard Commander in Khorasan Razavi province, Brigadier General Majid Shoja, announced that 20,000 illegal Afghan migrants have been repatriated to their homeland through the Dogharoon border area in the province.

Shoja stated on Saturday that to address the illegal presence of foreign nationals in the country, these individuals were identified last month and handed over to the Afghan representative through the Dogharoon border.

He emphasized that foreign nationals must enter the country through official and legal gates, otherwise, they will be dealt with decisively.

Khorasan Razavi province shares a 531 km border with Turkmenistan to the north and northeast, and a 302 km border with Afghanistan to the east.
