Iran condemned on Saturday U.S. military attack on its ally, Venezuela, describing it as a "flagrant violation of its national sovereignty and territorial integrity."
In a statement, Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on UN Security Council to "act immediately to stop the illegal aggression" and to hold those responsible accountable.
Earlier today, U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has been arrested and airlifted out of the country, accompanied by his wife.
He added that the United States carried out a "large-scale strike" against Venezuela in the early hours of this morning.
