International Emmy Awards 2021: No Win for Menna Shalaby

Egyptian actress Menna Shalaby was among the nominee for the International Emmy Awards 2021, held in New York City on Monday night.

The 49th nominees for the International Emmy Awards were revealed on September 23 by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

There were 44 nominated from across 11 categories and a record number of 24 countries.

Shalaby received her first-ever Emmy nomination for her performance in the crime mini-series “Fe Koul Osboua Youm Gomaa” (Every Week Has A Friday).

However, the Emmy was bagged by English actress and playwright Hayley Squires for "Adult Material".

Shalaby took to social media on Tuesday to express her gratitude for the support she received.

" Honored, proud, and so so thankful for all the love. 🤍Thank you @iemmys for the recognition and lifetime experience," she wrote on Instagram.

"Thank you all for your support and cheering! Your words empower and inspire me to push forward and be my best self," Shalaby concluded.

The International Emmy Award is an award granted by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in recognition of the best television programs initially produced and aired outside the United States.
