Inter Milan will host AS Roma on Sunday evening at the iconic San Siro in a high-stakes encounter in Matchday 31 of the Serie A.
Inter enter the match with strong ambitions to secure all three points and further strengthen their grip at the top of the standings.
The Nerazzurri currently lead the league with 69 points, holding a six-point advantage over their closest challengers, city rivals AC Milan.
Despite their commanding position, Inter have struggled for form in recent weeks prior to the international break, failing to register a victory in their last four matches across all competitions.
Their run included a goalless draw against Como in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final, followed by a narrow defeat to AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina.
They also shared points in consecutive 1–1 draws against Atalanta and Fiorentina.
Roma, meanwhile, have slipped out of the top four and currently sit sixth in the table with 54 points.
The capital-based club also endured disappointment in Europe, exiting the UEFA Europa League at the Round of 16 after defeat to Bologna.
However, Roma head into the fixture with renewed confidence after securing a morale-boosting 1–0 victory over Lecce prior to the international break.
