Habis Al-Sharuf, Director of the Palestinian National Security Institute (INSS), has called on the international community to act urgently to halt what he described as Israel’s "genocidal policies" in the Gaza Strip, warning that the humanitarian situation has reached catastrophic levels.

Speaking to Al-Qahera News, Al-Shuruf said the situation in Gaza is “extremely tragic,” highlighting the severe humanitarian crisis, including widespread famine and a total collapse of food security. “The Israeli occupation is working to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from their land,” he said.

Al-Shuruf called on the world's nations to intervene immediately to stop the destruction of Gaza's infrastructure and prevent further loss of civilian life.

In the same connections, he noted that Israel had recently escalated its military campaign by launching a new phase of ground operations in the Gaza Strip.

“This latest military move is aimed at pressuring Hamas to release Israeli hostages and detainees,” he explained, adding that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is seeking to prolong the life of his government through continued military aggression.

“There is no international deterrent preventing Israel from pursuing its campaign of killing and destruction,” Al-Shuruf asserted.

His remarks come amid growing international concern over the deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where reports of famine, displacement, and infrastructural collapse have drawn condemnation from human rights organizations and UN agencies.
