Infantino described the scheduling reform as “an important and timely milestone” for the development of American soccer.

He highlighted that MLS, across its thirty seasons, has succeeded in establishing a strong foundation that has positioned it as one of the leading leagues in North America.

The FIFA president emphasized that aligning the MLS calendar with the international match schedule will pave the way for “a new era of domestic and global growth” for American club football.
