Indonesian Minister of Trade, Dr. Zulkifli Hasan, and his accompanying high-level delegation visited The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) on Wednesday.
They were received by Ahmed Ghoneim, Managing Executive Director of NMEC, who gave them an overview about the unique location of the museum, its history as well as its cultural and societal role.
Accompanied by Expert Mohamed Mokhtar, the visitors toured the Central Exhibition Halls, Egyptian Textiles Hall, and the Royal Mummies Hall.
Moreover, Mokhtar gave them a detailed explanation of the museum's history and its unique archaeological holdings that narrate the history of Egyptian civilization throughout the ages.
On his part, the Indonesian Minister expressed his amazement at the unique treasures he saw in the museum, especially the Islamic antiquities.
At the end of the visit, Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim was keen to present a catalog of royal mummies to the Indonesian Minister.
