Indian and Chinese troops have clashed again in a disputed border area, with soldiers from both sides are injured, Indian media reported Monday.

The clash reportedly took place in Line of Actual Control last week near the Naku La area in Sikkim province in northern India.

"India Today" newspaper reported that India foiled an infiltrate attempt by Chinese soldiers, who attempted to cross the border in Sikkim, which led to physical clashes, in which soldiers from both sides were reported to be injured.

The newspaper pointed out that 4 Indian soldiers and 20 Chinese soldiers were injured in the clash.

India Today confirmed that the current situation at the site of the clash in Sikkim is "tense", but is not developing.

Tensions have been high between the two countries since a deadly clash in another disputed border area, which led to the death of at least 20 Indian soldiers in a skirmish in the Ladakh area last June.

The two countries have fought only one war. India was attacked on October 20, 1962, in what famously came to be known as the Sino-India war of 1962.  The war continued for about a month and ended on November 21, after China declared a ceasefire.
