The Indian Ministry of Health announced today, Friday, registering the highest daily increase, in 236 days, in the emerging coronavirus "Covid-19" cases.
India recorded 11,109 new cases of coronavirus within 24 hours, bringing the number of cases in the country to 49,622, NDTV reported.
It added that the death toll from infection with the virus in the country rose to 531,064 cases, after 29 new deaths were recorded.
The pace of daily infections in India had slowed at the beginning of this year.
