India Signs Agreement with EVA Pharma to Procure 300000 Remdesivir Doses

The embassy of India in Cairo signed an agreement with M/s Eva Pharma to procure 300000 doses of Remdesivir.

The embassy will receive the doses from the Cairo-based leading corporation on the behalf of the Indian Health and Family Welfare Ministry to help the state standing against the worsening pandemic situation, an official statement released by the embassy said.

Hosted at the headquarter of the Embassy, the event was attended by India's Ambassador to Cairo Ajit Gupte and the CEO of M/s Eva Pharma Dr. Riad Armanious.

On his side, Gupte praised the efforts of Egypt in supporting India during its ongoing pandemic crisis hoping that Remdesivir's role in improving the medical situation and helping in recovering the patients.

Next, he thanked Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Sisi and Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly for sending medical aid including medical supplies and liquid oxygen to India besides supporting M/s Eva Pharma corporation for providing the suffering state needs of the COVID-19 drugs including Remdesivir.

On the other hand, Dr. Armanious asserted Remdesivir's efficiency in recovering COVID-19 patients and its ability to controlling the disease inside the human body.

He added that the drug will help in reducing the rates of COVID-19 deaths in India. In addition, the drug is one of the most effective and successful Coronavirus treatments.

Eva Pharma is about to produce the raw components of the medicine to expand its production levels internationally.

India is suffering from a tragic medical situation amid the outbreak of the late local mutated variant. The state has recorded more than 4000,000 new infections daily.

Currently, it is suffering from a shortage of medical supplies topped by breathable liquid oxygen due to the speed flow of COVID-19 patients to hospitals leading the medical system of India to be collapsed.

Last week, Egypt sent medical aid consisted of medical supplies, devices, and oxygen to the state under the directives of President Abdel Fattah Sisi.
