President Abdel Fattah El Sisi honored Sunday a number of police martyrs’ families, during a celebration held to mark the 70th anniversary of Police Day.
Upon his arrival, the President laid a wreath of flowers at the police martyrs’ memorial, accompanied by Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, the Interior Minister, as well as a galaxy of top state officials.
National Police Day marks a battle fought by police forces in 1952 against British occupation forces in Ismailia City, which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries.
During the celebration, President Sisi honored police officers. Then, he met with members of the Supreme Police Council.
