Egypt's Minister of Immigration Soha Gendi met the Regional Director of UNESCO's office in Cairo and the Arab States Noria Sanz to discuss the best ways to improve their collaboration.
The meeting was held in the Ministry of State for Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs headquarters in the presence of Saber Suleiman, Assistant Minister for Institutional Development and overseer of the Minister's office, and Salma Saqr, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation.
Gendi stressed the significance of merging cultural perspectives while addressing critical migration issues.
The Egyptian official noted that the idea behind these initiatives is to reinforce the connection between overseas Egyptians and their homeland, both in identity and culture.
She also mentioned that her Ministry has sponsored a number of programs targeting the preservation and promotion of the national identity among Egyptian immigrants.
