On Saturday, Polish tennis star Iga Swiatek achieved won the 2024 Roland Garros title after defeating Italian 12th seed Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-1.
This title is the third successive Roland Garros title, and her fourth French open. Swiatek increased her grand slam titles to five.
She said after her victory: "I love this place, I wait every year to play here."
Swiatek follows Monica Seles and Justine Henin on the list of the women who have claimed a ‘three-peat’ in the women’s singles since the Open era began in 1968.
She is the youngest player in the Open era to win four titles at Roland Garros.
