The Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) issued a new report which showed that Egypt is a major Jasmine production center in the world.

It ranks second with about 50 percent of the world's jasmine production, IDSC's report said.

The report noted that 75 percent of jasmine production comes from a single village, located in the Qutur district of the Gharbia Governorate.

According to IDSC's numbers, the village of "Shibra Belula Al-Sakhawia" produces around 4 tons of jasmine.

The majority of Jasmine flower harvest is exported to all parts of the world and it is used in the production of many perfumes, including well-known French brands.
