Humat Al-Watan Party: Egypt Voices Solidarity with Lebanon

Maj. Gen. Mohamed Al-Ghobashy, assistant to the President of the Party of Humat Al-Watan Party, praised dispatching a military transport plane loaded with an urgent shipment of aid containing large quantities of medical supplies provided by the Arab Republic of Egypt to the sisterly Republic of Lebanon.

The Egyptian shipment of aid followed the Beirut explosion that took place on Tuesday.

The massive explosion in the port of the Lebanese capital killed more than 150 people and injured more than 3,500 injured.

On the other hand, Egypt has sent medical crews to operate a field hospital in Beirut at full speed to rescue the Lebanese brothers with unprecedented measures taken by the elder sister Egypt.

In a press statements made today, Maj. Gen. Al-Ghobashy expressed the solidarity of the Egyptian government and people with the brethren in the state of Lebanon.

Egypt vows to harness all the capabilities to help and support Lebanon in its ordeal.

He pointed out that this aid comes from the pioneering Egyptian role towards brotherly and friendly countries by providing support and permanent solidarity with them in times of adversity and crisis.

The assistant head of the Party of Humat Al-Watan Party pointed out that Egypt has distinguished relations with the Arab countries, at the head of which is Lebanon, as Egypt pursues a policy of openness towards the various Lebanese forces and its permanent standing at one distance from all political parties as a basic principle in the Egyptian foreign policy.

In the same context, Marwan Abboud, Governor of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, confirmed that 300,000 people have left their homes in and uptown Beirut due to the massive explosion that hit the city's port yesterday.

Correspondents of news agencies indicated that the fire renewed from time to time at the site of the explosion. Rescue crews continue searching at the site of the explosion to scoop dozens of missing persons.
