Liverpool football club has confirmed 12 new contracts for academy players to join their class of 2023/24, including a scholarship for 16-year-old Egyptian centre forward Kareem Ahmed.
Kareem Ahmed was at the academy since he was six years old, Ahmed already made his mark when he doubled his side’s lead in his FA Youth Cup debut last season, and then scored in a mini-derby against city rivals Everton during his U18 Premier League debut.
On a yearly basis, Liverpool intakes first-year scholars to feature in its U18 squad. The U18 began their pre-season with two victories at the AXA Training Centre in Liverpool. He will be a first-year scholar with the U18s in 2023-24. No pressure on Ahmed given his under age but there's no doubt the Liverpool fans will be hoping they have another Mohammed Salah. Liverpool's greatest ever players Salah is the current captain of the Egypt national team.
