In 2005 Ceramica Cleopatra Group gained the award as the largest exporter to Japan, as the company has been exporting its high quality ceramic and porcelain products to Japan since 25 years, matching the demand coming from the largest Japanese projects such as grand hotels, main train and underground stations, airports, shopping centers and Universities.

Prominent businessman Mohamed Aboul Enein, founder and chairman of Cleopatra Group received the award in a huge event held by Egypt-Japan business council in Tokyo, Japan, in presence of the International Cooperation Minister.

On how Ceramica Cleopatra penetrated the Japanese markets, Aboul Enein told the Economist Magazine. "Japan is the most difficult global market because it requires efficiency, quality and the latest technology that the world has reached. We succeeded to meet the challenge and were able to establish a prominent market throughout Japan.

"The main reason I was able to succeed in Japan because, I worked so hard," the businessman revealed. "I kept going to Japan and holding exhibitions there for 5 years and no one paid attention to what I was doing."

The prominent businessman then revealed that when he went there again the next year, someone approached him with the fact that they kept improving. I then invited them to visit my factory in Bologna Italy, and in Egypt and this is where our cooperation began.

"My goal has always been to be the best in the world in the manufacture of ceramics, porcelain and sanitary ware, and today we are happy with what we have achieved this goal".

"We are now running giant projects in Japan- metro stations - Osaka airport - we have supplied our products to Japanese airports, hotels, train stations in Tokyo, hundreds of malls, hospitals, the first economic university and hundreds of schools," he revealed.

Our success culminated in the award of the largest source for the Japanese market; "I feel proud when I hear the saying that “a third of the Japanese population walks, on a daily basis, on our Ceramica Cleopatra products."

"The company's products hold the label Made in Egypt. This is not only a success of Ceramica Cleopatra, but also the reputation of Egypt and its products, confidence and glorification of the Egyptian product in global markets," he concluded.
