MarineTraffic, a company specializing in the analysis of ship tracking data, stated that vessels have begun transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The company reported that two ships crossed the strait today: one is the bulk carrier “NJ Earth,” owned by a Greek company, and the other is the “Daytona Beach,” sailing under the Liberian flag.
The company added: Early signs of maritime movement are emerging in the Strait of Hormuz after the ceasefire announcement, which includes a temporary reopening of the strategic waterway to allow room for negotiations. According to MarineTraffic data, hundreds of vessels remain in the area, including 426 oil tankers, 34 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers, and 19 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, many of which had effectively halted during the period of disruption.
