Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice + Recipes … Fall Cooking

Pumpkin pie spice or pumpkin spice is an American mix of spice usually used in making pumpkin pie and sometimes in seasoning foods. The American spice blend is so similar to the British mixed spice. Pumpkin pie spice is a blend of cinnamon, ginger, cloves and nutmeg.

  • Pumpkin pie spice recipe:

 

Mix 3 tablespoons of cinnamon, 2 teaspoons of ginger, 1 teaspoon of cloves, 1 teaspoon of allspice and 2  teaspoons of nutmeg till well combined before storing in an airtight container for up to six months.

  • Pumpkin pie spice mousse

  • Ingredients:
  •  

    • ½ a cup of vanilla pudding.
    • 1 ½ cups of heavy cream.
    • 1 cup of whole milk.
    • 2 cups of pumpkin puree.
    • ½ a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
    • 1 tablespoons of maple syrup.
    • 1 teaspoon of pumpkin spice.
    • ½ a teaspoon of cinnamon.
    • ½ a teaspoon of salt.

     

  • Instructions:

    • In a large bowl, add the pudding, pumpkin spice, cinnamon and salt before whisking everything together. Then, add the pumpkin puree, milk, maple syrup and vanilla. Whisk again till smooth.

     

    • In another bowl, whip the heavy cream for 3:4 minutes or until stiff peaks form before folding two thirds of the cream into the mousse mixture.

     

    • Pipe the mousse into serving dishes before topping it with the remaining cream and some cinnamon. Serve and Enjoy!

  • Pumpkin pie spice fudge

  • Ingredients:
  •  

    • 3 ½ cups of white chocolate chips.
    • 1 ½ cups of condensed milk.
    • 1/3 a cup of pumpkin puree.
    • 1 teaspoon of pumpkin spice.
    • ½ a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
    • A pinch of salt.

     

  • Instructions:

    • Grease an 8” × 8” pan before lining it with parchment paper.

     

    • In a large bowl, combine the white chocolate chips with the condensed milk and microwave them on medium power for 1-minute intervals. Make sure to stir after each minute until well combined.

     

    • Add the pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, vanilla extract and salt. Stir till well combined and smooth before pouring the mixture into the prepared pan and refrigerating for about 3 hours or till it sets.

     

    • Cut the fudge into squares and top it with whipped cream before serving. Enjoy!
