Former Barcelona forward Thierry Henry reportedly emerged as a surprise candidate to lead the Blaugrana if the current head coach Ernesto Valverde leaves the club.
Henry was named the head coach of Major League Soccer club Montreal Impact in November.
Spanish outlet 'Sport' reported that the 42-year -old coach could succeed Valverde due to his good relations with several players at Camp Nou and Barcelona director Eric Abidal.
"Henry is also good friends with his former Barcelona and France team-mate Eric Abidal, who is Barcelona's director of football," Daily Mail reported according to Sport newspaper. Valverde's contract with Blaugrana is scheduled to expire in June.

Henry's career as a coach started in 2016 when he was appointed as an assistant manager to Roberto Martinez who is currently the head coach of the Belgium national team, and the coaching career of the French former international player lasted just 104 days in his first managerial role.
Barcelona are currently topping the La Liga table, two points ahead of rivals Real Madrid.
Noteworthy that the 42-year-old player, who made his first professional debut with Monaco in 1994 then moved to Juventus and Arsenal, joined Barcelona in 2007 and played in Camp Nou for three years between 2007 and 2010 after leaving Arsenal.
