Egyptian Health Minister Dr. Hala Zayed announced on Saturday that Egypt is tightening COVID-19 restrictions amid the outbreak of new mutated virus strains globally.

The minister set a meeting with several officials who are concerned with disease prevention, and quarantine to review the ongoing COVID-19 protective procedures especially in all ports on Friday.

Also, all passengers coming to Egypt should have a negative PCR test result certificate.

The Spokesperson added that Egypt immediately imposed those restrictions after the World Health Organization's pandemic warning, asserting that these measures contributed to controlling the infection, protecting Egypt from new strains.
