Health Ministry: 618K Citizens Received COVID-19 Booster Shot

About 618,761 citizens received COVID-19 booster shots, especially those with weak immunity, according to the Ministry of Health and Population spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.

The spokesman also urged citizens to remain home, follow preventive measures and avoid crowded places.

It is worth mentioning that, the recovery rate from COVID-19 at Egyptian isolation hospitals has reached 84%, after receiving the necessary medical care, according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO).

In a statement, the Ministry of Health revealed that the number of people recovering from the virus increased to 354,300 cases.

Egypt registered, on Monday, 2223 new coronavirus cases, the highest-ever single day record since the outbreak of the pandemic in February 2020.

The total number of reported coronavirus cases in the country has jumped to 425,911, according to the Ministry of Health and Population’s daily report.

The ministry also reported 31 new deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total fatalities nationwide to 22,635.

Moreover, 1891 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 358,165.
