Mahmoud Ahmed Momtaz, Chairman of the Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA), congratulated, Saturday, Feryal Ashraf on claiming a gold medal in Tokyo Olympic Games 2020.
Momtaz sent a message to Ashraf Abdel Aziz, director of Financial and Administrative Affairs at the Agency, congratulating him on his daughter's remarkable win.
The chairman affirmed that Feryal made her country proud of her great achievement, winning the gold medal in Women’s Kumite + 61kg Karate to be the first female athlete in the history of Egypt.
Moreover, the British University in Egypt congratulated the champ for her win and wished her good luck in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics- Finals.
"The British University in Egypt and the Student Activities Department- Sports Section are proud to announce that our BUE Pharmacy senior student Ferial Ashraf, has been officially nominated to an Olympic medal on Tokyo Olympics 2021, Karate competition," the university wrote in a statement on Facebook.
"All the BUE Staff and students wishing her the best in the final match and bringing back the gold medal to Egypt," it added, stressing that she is considered to be one of "the figures who represent Egyptian youth raising her country’s name in different international tournaments."
