HBO Max, WarnerMedia new streaming service set to launch in 2020, had ordered the reboot of TV show "Gossip Girl".

The new show will consist of 10 one-hour episodes and will arrive from makers of the original "Gossip Girl" team, including executive producers Joshua Safran, Stephanie Savage, and Josh Schwartz.

The reboot is set eight years after the original show’s finale, which ended in 2012, and will be centered around a new generation of New York private school teens.

It will address just how much social media and the landscape of New York itself has changed over the last decade.

The original “Gossip Girl,” which ran on the CW Television Network from 2007 to 2012, was based on the YA novel series written by Cecily von Ziegesar and centered around a group of teens from the Manhattan elite.

The combination of fashion and drama on the Upper East Side made the show one of the most popular on TV at the time and left a huge impact on pop culture.

It also made huge stars out of cast members Blake Lively، Penn Badgley، Leighton Meester، and more.

There is as yet no word on whether any of the original cast members will be returning for the new show.
