Egyptian iconic archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawas discussed some of his literature, such as "Tutankhamun, the king of kings", "Giza Hill", “The pyramid of King Khufu” (Part III), and "Tutankhamun, the young golden pharaoh", during a seminar held at the Cairo International Book Fair.

Participating in the discussions were Professor Alaa Shaheen, former dean of Faculty of Archeology, and Dr. Ahmed Budran, professor of Egyptian Archeology, Faculty of Archeology, Cairo University,.

At the beginning of the seminar, Mr. Alaa Abdel-Hadi, who facilitated the session, said that Dr. Hawas is one of the Egypt soft power elements, noting that he already has great scientific contributions already competing in fame and science with global scientists in the field of archaeology.

On his part, Dr. Hawass said that he had written 17 books in English on Tutankhamun. He added that the family of Tutankhamen was identified accurately in his book, noting that the late pharaonic king was sick with malaria.

He stressed that, next month, Egypt will receive a certain device that would enable identifying "DNA" to know how Tutankhamun died.

Dr. Hawass noted also that during the next two weeks, two books will be issued on Tutankhamun, one in Arabic and the other in English, so that children would get to know their history and monuments of their country.

Dr. Hawass announced during the seminar that he is about to publish a book on Sphinx.

Commenting on a request by the attendees that he should present a TV program to further explain on Egypt’s history and antiques, he elaborated that he had already suggested the idea for a channel to make a program dedicated for antiques and to talk with people in the streets about the treasure Egypt has.

He noted that he is currently proceeding in collecting signatures of intellectuals to bring back Nefertiti bust from Germany, where it is currently located.

Dr. Hawass indicated that he had received a lot of harsh criticism from the Brotherhood’s old

TV channels, adding that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi saved Egypt from the chaos that was likely to happen.

“We should really thank him for the security that he secured for Egypt,” he concluded.
