Harry Maguire has signed a new contract with Manchester United, the club confirmed, extending his stay at Old Trafford.
The England international, who was set to become a free agent at the end of the season, has agreed to a one-year extension until June 2027, with an option for an additional 12 months.
“Representing Manchester United is the ultimate honour,” Maguire said. “It is a responsibility that makes myself and my family proud every single day.”
He added: “I am delighted to extend my journey at this incredible club to at least eight seasons and continue to play in front of our special supporters to create more amazing moments together.”
Maguire also pointed to the club’s ambition, expressing confidence that the team can compete for major trophies in the coming years.
Manchester United director of football Jason Wilcox praised the defender’s influence, highlighting his leadership and professionalism as key assets for a developing squad.
“Harry represents the mentality and resilience required to perform for Manchester United,” Wilcox said. “He brings invaluable experience and leadership to our young, ambitious squad.”
The 33-year-old joined United from Leicester City in 2019 for £80 million and has since made 266 appearances, scoring 17 goals.
Maguire has played a significant role in the team’s resurgence under Michael Carrick, with his recent form earning him a recall to the England squad ahead of international fixtures against Uruguay and Japan.
