Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane reached a historic milestone on Friday, becoming the fastest player this century to score 100 goals in Europe’s top five leagues with a single club.
The English forward struck twice in Bayern’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Werder Bremen at the Allianz Arena in the Bundesliga’s Matchday 5 opener.
Jonathan Tah opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before Kane doubled the lead from the penalty spot just before halftime.
Kane added his second in the 65th minute, and Konrad Laimer sealed the win with Bayern’s fourth goal in the 87th.
According to Opta, Kane achieved the feat in just 104 league appearances, edging past both Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland, who each needed 105 matches to hit the same landmark.
The victory keeps Bayern Munich top of the Bundesliga with a perfect record of 15 points from five matches, while Werder Bremen remain 14th with just 4 points.
