Egyptian actress Hannah El Zahed will guest star in Ahmed Hatem and Asma Abulyazeid's latest film "Ashek".
The cast also includes Mohsen Mohiedine, Karim Kassem, and more. It is scripted by Mahmoud Zahran and directed by Amro Salah.
"Ashek" marks the second collaboration between Hatem and Abulyazeid after the 2021 star-studded film “Qamar 14” (Full Moon).
The pic also witnesses Abulyazeid's comeback to the big screen after an absence of one year. She made her last appearance in the 2023 film "El Ameel Sefr."
It also marks the fifth collaboration between El Zahed and Hatem after "Ana W Heya" (2022), “Helwa El Donia Sokar” (2021), "Al-Ghasala" (2020), and "Qeset Hob" (2019).
"Ashek" is set to premiere in theatres on September 11.
Hatem and El Zahed are also collaborating on the sequel to the romance-drama film “Qeset Hob” (Love Story).
The 2019 film also starred Hanan Soliman, Ola Roshdy, Yasser Eltobgy, and others. Othman Abo Labn directed the pic from a screenplay she co-wrote with Amany Al Tounsi.
“Qeset Hob” is centered around Yousef (Hatem), whose world is shaken up after an accident that leaves him blind, but a twist of fate brings the beautiful Jameela (El Zahed) into his life.
The film achieved great success upon release, as it opened during Valentine’s Day season. The total earnings at the box office amounted to EGP 10,761,4103.
El Zahed confirmed that she and Hatem will return to reprise their roles in the upcoming, despite the film ending with her death.
