The medical Committee of the IHF Men's Handball World Championship said on Friday that every team in the tournament will undergo PCR tests every 24 hours.

Khaled Megahed, the Spokesman of the medical committee, said that the PCR tests will be made for everyone, partakes in the tournament, upon the health minister and Sports minister directives.

These decisions came as the state is keen on adhering to the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Megahed stressed that the PCR swabs will be taken every 24 hours for all the participating teams instead of every 48 hours, as well as for all members of the federations, organizing committees and hotel workers.

The official spokesperson revealed that 7205 PCR tests were carried out since the beginning of the reception preparations for the participating delegations on January 1.
