At just 18 years old, Egyptian table tennis prodigy Hana Goda has achieved a historic milestone by breaking into the list of the top 20 female players in the world.
According to the latest weekly rankings released by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), Goda climbed two places to secure the 20th spot globally, marking the highest ranking of her professional career to date.
This achievement follows Goda's impressive performance at the Table Tennis World Cup earlier this month.
She reached the quarterfinals before being narrowly defeated 4-3 in a thrilling match against the world number one and Paris Olympics silver medalist, Sun Yingsha.
Despite her exit, the performance earned her the points necessary to cement her status among the world's elite.
The latest rankings update showed mixed results for other Egyptian athletes. Dina Meshref dropped three places to become world number 50, while Mariam Al-Hodaby moved up two spots to reach 87th.
On the men's side, Omar Assar maintained his position as world number 32, and Youssef Abdel-Aziz held steady at world number 58.
Goda's rise remains the highlight for Egyptian sports, signaling a bright future for the young champion on the international stage.
