Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok called for the removal of his country's name from the US list for the countries which support terrorism.

Hamdok asked the country's partners to commit to their pledges to help Sudan, in his speech to the United Nations General Assembly.

Hamdok also called for the international community to support Sudan in facing its economic crisis and to complete its governmental plans during the transitional period.

Earlier, Hamdok accused the regime of former President Omar Al-Bashir of exacerbating the economic crisis in the country by filing a complaint at the economic conference currently held in Khartoum.

The Sudanese Prime Minister pointed out that Sudan suffers from a sharp deterioration in macroeconomic indicators since the secession of southern Sudan, where most of the oil fields are located.

The Sudanese Prime Minister pointed out that "the most important challenges facing the country's economy are the deterioration of financial conditions, the degradation of the external sector indicators, as well as the challenging inflation rates and the external debt, which reached 64 billion dollars."

In another context, he added that his country does not want to link its removal from the US list of states that support terrorism to the Sudanese-Israeli relations, explaining that these relations need a societal discussion.
