Palestinian group Hamas has expressed strong appreciation for Egypt’s ongoing diplomatic efforts, led by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, to support the Palestinian cause and advance mediation efforts aimed at stabilising Gaza.

In a statement, Hamas said its delegation had concluded an official visit to Cairo after holding a series of meetings with Egyptian officials, mediators, and representatives of Palestinian factions. The talks focused on advancing efforts to implement the Gaza ceasefire agreement and address the humanitarian and political consequences of the conflict.

The group added that a broader meeting was held with Nikolay Mladenov, described as a senior representative linked to ongoing peace efforts, in the presence of mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. Discussions centred on continuing coordination to ensure the full implementation of the ceasefire framework and to support longer-term stability in the territory.

Hamas and other Palestinian factions stressed the need for the complete and precise execution of all provisions of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement. They also called for the immediate launch of a transitional Palestinian national committee tasked with administering Gaza during the interim period.

The movement reaffirmed what it described as a serious and constructive approach, alongside other factions, to continue implementing all stages of the ceasefire agreement. It also confirmed receiving an invitation to resume talks in Cairo in the coming days, signalling that negotiations remain ongoing.
