GUCians Entertain in “One of Man Kind” Play (Video)

One of Man Kind, a theater performance held by German University in Cairo (GUC) students, was inspired by several Greek Legends that are point of interest by many history scholars studying ancient Greek politics and cultures

The play revolves around the failure of human beings to work as a unit, but instead depending on a single hero who saves the day. The moral of the play is that the humans learn to work as a unit instead of depending on a single savior in the end. The play is written by Mohamed Adel, directed by Walid Talaat, with the general supervision of Dr. Hala Hashish Director of Media Production Center at the university.

Students are creative

Dr. Ashraf Mansour, President of the Board of Trustees of the university, attended the theatrical show; he expressed his admiration for all the acting team which consisted of Ahmed Samir, Ahmed Emad, Ahmed Hany, Andrea Joseph and Tia. The play was also attended by several of the school’s heads of departments in addition to many parents.

It is noteworthy that the university theater team, which includes talented students from different faculties, has been active since 2012; it hosted a number of theatrical performances including tsunami, dull tree, heel dip, lunatics, hiccup.

The theater team won the best performance award by the public at the National Festival of the Egyptian Theater in 2017.
